January News:
The Annual meeting of the Pine Mountain Posse was held on January 17, 2010 at the Black Bear Diner in Redmond. 34 members attended - welcome to some new members - Dakota Del & his wife, Chef Kurt & Triple D Dutchman. There were alot of issues to discuss, but Marshall Coyote Bob Barker kept the meeting running smoothly and alot was done in a couple hours.
There were nominations & election of new club officers - you can check out the board listed under "Contacts".
The 2nd Annual "Gunfight in the Badlands" was discussed, committees formed and the registration form & flyer are posted under "Matches". Simply download these to fill out and send in. We're always looking for people who'd like to help out with this year's annual, so you can contact Whisperin' Wade or Cascades Annie if you can and would like to help. We've added a couple new items to this year's events. Deadwood Pete & Sierra Sage Sue have volunteered to cook Breakfast (breakfast burritos) Saturday & Sunday morning which is included in the shooter's fees along with lunch both Saturday & Sunday, and Saturday night dinner! Plus we're adding a couple side matches - Friday's lineup will be Long Range pistol caliber, rifle caliber, single shot & Buffalo shoot on Friday morning. In the afternoon, there will be a shotgun shootout, speed pistol & rifle, pocket pistol/derringer and a warm-up stage. Saturday afternoon's side matches will include a Fast Draw competition and a 2-stage Wild Bunch shoot! So be sure and bring plenty of ammo!! There'll be LOTS of shooting going on.
A questionnaire had been in the January Newsletter. These were turned in and results tabulated.  You can view the results in the "Meeting Minutes" in the next newsletter.
February 14th was the Valentine's Day Shoot. Dixie Creek Bob came all the way from Prairie City to watch Juniper Butch Cassidy open a can of Whoopass and take first place. Butch was hot proving once again that there is no substitute for hard work and much practice. Butch works hard for what he wins.
Whisperin' Wade fumbled a bit opening a door for Butch and Stonewood Kid to move up in the rankings, also proving once again that no one is infallible, and I should say, Wade had a big smile on his face nevertheless.
Kurt the Chef was there and presented the Posse with a magnificient stew which was quickly devoured at the lunch time break. Our Lady Helpers - Badlands Bertha & Diamond Willow kept things hopping and Connie, the Post Master General of Powell Butte, was much help at the unloading table. We had good company, thanks to Silver Dan who once again came up with one of his ingenious ideas for a shotgun target. Thanks Dan!
The Legend, Pinkerton and Ballarat Slow Lee were there doing their usual good, and Brownie Nash once again drove all the way from Hines. Silver Sage Outlaw made a target "Cowboy Cupid" with a Clay pidgeon inserted that served as a prize maker for some Valentine candy. Of course, he won the Big Heart box of candy, but so did Coyote Bob & Dixie Creek Bob. Durango Muldoon nosed out Cascades Annie by a few seconds. The weather tried hard to make us cold, but NO. No because of the warming stove made by Silver Dan, Pinterton and Coyote Roberto. Take that winter....Don't mess with the Pine Mountain Posse. More next time.
